MTV campaign

Trends...
I've been seeing this ad everywhere lately:

It's for goody bobby pins, and although I like the style that they do the ad in, it is clear that they used the same exact film style as the Kindle ads:

This is such a unique way to construct a TV ad, and to have two different products using the same style diminished each brand's individuality, and can also unintentionally tie the two brands together.

A Great Campaign
Apple has dominated any other computer ad campaign for a while now. However, with the release of the Microsoft's "Windows 7 was my idea" campaign, they are giving Apple a run for their money. This campaign reaches out to the public by having PC users explain the new features of Windows 7, and take credit for the new program. What I love about these ads is that Microsoft manages to demo features of their product while making their "spokespeople" real and relatable. They also have 3 different ad format - one is quick cuts to different people who claim that Windows 7 was their idea, one focuses on one person who explains why Windows 7 was their idea, and the last one is a 7 second demo of one of the features of Windows 7. They also have some print and outdoor ads, but they are much more successful in TV format.
